Read This If You Want To Add A New Dimension And Feel To Your Music
...using colorful, hip jazz chords that are easy to play (even if you don't read music!)
Dear Chord Lover,
What if you could just sit down at the piano, let your fingers fall to the keys, and play endless strings of chords that sound just like your favorite jazz, R&B, and neo soul records by artists like...
HERBIE HANCOCK
D'ANGELO
BILL EVANS
ROBERT GLASPER
What if you were able to reharmonize any old melody, injecting it with new harmonic life without having to study a year’s worth of music theory and functional harmony?
What if your friends and family overheard you practicing and asked...
"WHEN THE HECK DID YOU LEARN TO PLAY LIKE THAT?"
Sound like a stretch?
I used to think so, too…
Until it happened to me.
You see, my music used to sound super basic. I knew how to play triads and a handful of seventh chords, but no matter how many different inversions I tried, I was always frustrated and unsatisfied by how amateurish I sounded compared to the music I desperately wanted to be able to play.
And the worst part was that I had no idea what to do to make my chords sound better.
OH, HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED...
Now I sit down at the piano, and my fingers practically go on autopilot, playing chord after chord thick with harmonic color and sophistication.
The thing that got me to this point was understanding and leveraging the power of chord voicings, i.e., how the notes of a chord are arranged on the piano.
I used to think that studying chord progressions was the secret to getting the sounds I wanted. But eventually I realized that:
EVEN THE BEST PROGRESSIONS CAN STILL SOUND AWFUL IF PLAYED WITH LOUSY VOICINGS.
I also discovered that a seemingly basic chord progression can be made to sound intricate and modern simply by using quality voicings.
Now, you may be wondering: that’s all well and good, but how am I supposed to learn better chord voicings?

INTO SICK MUSIC LIKE THIS:
"This is what I needed! Thank you!
I picked up Sick Chords and started playing chords right away. Jeff talks about how it's not just about the changes, it's about the voicings. I am converted.
Though I have only been working with these materials for a short while, I am already reaping rewards...
I am finally grabbing chords—without thinking—and for that, I thank you, my ears thank you, and I bet even my dog’s ears thank you."

Now, in case you're wondering...
"HOW DO I KNOW WHICH CHORD VOICINGS TO PLAY?"
The truth is, you could throw darts at Sick Chords Vol. 1 and still sound great.
But here's a quick tip if you'd like to be a little more selective with your voicings...
CONSIDER THE TOP NOTE OF EACH OF YOUR CHORDS
Why? Because the top note implies a melody.
"But what if I'm just playing chords...without a melody?"
You're still conveying a melody with that top note whether you mean to or not. It may not be the "official" melody of the song, but it's still an implied melody.
And that brings me to one of the coolest parts about Sick Chords Vol. 1:
The voicings are organized by the top note!
For instance, all of the Major 7 voicings with the root in the top voice are grouped together. And all of the voicings with the third in top voice are grouped together, etc.
This unique layout is especially helpful for...
REHARMONIZATION
Say you have an E in the melody and you want to play a DMaj9 chord underneath. (Remember, E is the 9 on a DMaj9 chord.)
All you have to do is go to the chord sheet in the key of D and choose a voicing from the "9th on Top" section:
Reharmonizing melodies with crazy hip voicings has never been this simple.
But I want to make it even easier for you, which is why, in addition to the 100+ voicings you're getting with Sick Chords Vol. 1, I'm also including a very special bonus:
