Chord tone magic is a great practice tool. Working with just chord tones sounds easy, but I found that I did not know them as well as I thought I did - and it took some work to get comfortable playing them in the various inversions. The real magic is when you apply rhythm to the mix, and Jeff has done a great job here. If you don't sound good on the chord tones alone, then the chances of you sounding good when all of the other notes are introduced are limited. I think Chord Tone Magic is well worth the money and demonstrates that there is no substitute for really knowing chords and the power of rhythm.
